About 5-10 minute walk from MRT Tamsui station(exit 1), here we are at Suman restaurant. People are still celebrating Chinese New Year in Taiwan, so they offer special sets of meals today.

A scene of the restaurant. The sign on the table says: "Occupied".

Special sets of meals during Chinese New Year. Foods offered during normal times may differ.

They already got English translation on the menu but I'm not sure if the workers there speak English.

Appetizer: fried king oyster mushroom, yam salad and tomoto with plum sauce.

I liked the tomato the most. That plum sauce was just perfect.

Butter sauce with potato spaghetti & corn soup.

I'll follow the translation on the menu, hope it's understandable.

The spaghetti was mild and smooth, without too much flavor.

Buddha's Favorite, which is well stewed taro, all kinds of mushroom, chinese cabbage, chestnuts all put together.

It is said that the dish is so delicious that even Buddha himself will want a taste.

The bowl on the left hand side is today's dessert: white fungus soup with lotus seeds.

Mashroom steak. I apologize for the terrible photo angle...

It was actually more delicious than it looks like. Dip your lion's mane mushroom inside the black pepper sauce and take a bite!

Unlike other steak-like mushrooms I had eaten, it was more doughy and not that dry.

To sum up, I consider Suman's dishes are relatively plain. Just like their idea written on the blackboard: Vegan is not only about choosing what to eat, but an attitude of life.

They use organic materials and filtered water to make food, being nice to the environment and your body.

If you are a fan of original taste, without too much processing, Suman may be your choice.
